The Pope Disapproves Of Monscooch.com
July 17, 2008 at 10:03 pm | In World News | 3 Comments[Via: Yahoo News] In an attack on popular culture and consumerism in an disapproves address to thousands of young Australian Catholics Pope Benedict XVI blasted the Internet, TV and video games for promoting sex and violence as entertainment.
“I ask myself, could anyone standing face to face with people who actually do suffer violence and sexual exploitation explain that these tragedies, portrayed in virtual form, are considered merely entertainment?” he said.
The funky-haired pontiff is visiting Sydney for World Youth Day, a five-day meeting of young Catholics from around the world. No doubt telling stories about how the Earth is 10,000 years old. Regardless of the existence of these so called “Dinosaurs” that these so-called “Scientists” made up.
“While the fact the pope is railing against modern society’s ills, the World Youth Day organisers have deployed many pop culture tools to promote the event as a hip experience for young worshippers.
They send out a daily text message from Pope Benedict XVI, or BXVI as he is known to mobile phone users, such as: The Holy Spirit gave the Apostles and gives u the power boldly 2 proclaim that Christ is risen! – BXVI.”
Other possible messages could possilby turn out to be “TWIMC… Dinosaurs? rolfcopter! >:DÂ PITMEMBOAM -BXVI”. The idea has great potential. I found out the above abreviations here. in case you don’t know, the Pope used the following terms: To Whom It May Concern (TWIMC), rolfcopter (Rolling On Floor Laughing… copter) and Peace In The Middle East My Brother Of Another Mother (PITMEMEBOAM).
Barely related song of the day: Walk The Dinosaurs by Was (Not Was)

I don’t think it’s funny or clever to be disrespecting our Pontiff. There are many people, including myself, who strongly believe that Pope Benedict XVI (our of respect you should use his full name) is a guiding light in this over-commercial, consumerist world. If there were more people like him in the world then surely we’d all be happy and joyous and God loving people……
Who the fuck am I kidding? Send him back to the Vatican and board up the doors and windows.

Rosie: Dang, that’s much simpler and funnier than mine. I go a bit too far and even explain the joke. Damn you!
Darren: You actually had me going there. I was ready to delete another post. Damn you too!
Sorry. That’s a bit of unnecessary damnation. I’m implying that God will punish you with eternal suffering when I’m the one calling the pope Senator Palpatine.
